2012 ramblings

i struggled this year with the army and having strong feelings of not belonging and not being wanted, but all the stuff with the carol service has meant that i feel like i belong and actuallymeant people that hadnt spoke to me in a long time did  Abigail and sammy loved the christmas stuff and theyhave really enjoyed being a part of stuff.  As a family we have enjoyed having are van and have had some great times in it.  Sammy started school and much to our amazement settled really well and abigail progressed into year one and started music lessons.  We have continued to enjoylife as a family a year with no major achievements or disasters but one where we have continued to enjoy our life together.

new years eve

Sammy was upset this morning because it wasnt a schoolday but now him and Abigail are  tucked up in bed I have had  a lovely bath with Christmas goodies in my PJs dominos ordered and a bottle of fizz cooling(blackberry and raspberry) all ready to welcome the new year/

Birthday treat

Took abigail and my mom for there birthday treat today to see the Lion King in Manchester.  Had a great time at lion king an amazing show but best thing was watching Abigail's face lit up with excitement wonder and happiness........all the payment I ever need.  and of course me ste and Peter enjoyed it as well only thing is my mom didnt manage to meet up with my cousin who is head of makeup on show,

6 Today

Round 2

Round 2 of Christmas today kids opened rest of gifts this morning put some stuff away but wondering where all the toys will go mountain of paper and cardboard forming. cooked dinner now chilling before uncle peter arrives and tea time

Christmas day

Santa sacks filled christmas presents under tree had gorgeous christmas eve lush bath gorgeous new pjs on ste wrapping presents just wondering if this the first year kids wake us up and ask if father Christmas has been.   Definatley first year Smmy aware its Christmas eve with him he getting his bos pjs on early but poor abigail has had a pj day for a diffrent rason with her not being well.  and of course disaster was nearly on as when i went to garage to get stuff out of freezer i found it had  been switched off ste was last one to go down yesterday and all was ok lost all deserts for christmas but most of stuff for christmas dinner ok as not completley defrosted so had to do a mad dash to shops.  and of course i started my christmas shopping for 2013.

Party

After all the worrying with the fact that Abigails party was double booked not are fault but we had to move it from being in the shop tomorrow to at home today  Abigails party is done but Mummy in trouble because she forgot pass the parcel but abigail has a lovely new ted a pink unicorn......Sammy chose a dinasoar and a spiderman outfit.

extreme Anniversary

had a great day out with ste ......not what i expected and extreme sledging was just that extreme....the ski lesson was great and i guess if i had wriiten a bucket list thats one thing i would have put on it....Although im bruised and battered it was worth it have a enormous bruise on thigh and sore shoulder but just had a lush bath and now for tea......as for ste i think he has got the skiing bug...but have to say ski boots are the heavest most uncomforbale things to wear.....Thanks for great day ste

7 years today

i know some people thought we were mad and others thought it wouldnt last but 7 years ago today i made the best decision of my life and married the love of my life and its a love that has grown and today he is still the love of my life and my best friend

Timbrel mad

Abigail is fasinated by timbrels and so much wants to learn.  Yesterday when we were practesing she was stood copying and last night when going to sleep she wanted to dream about timbrels,,,,,,,,,,,

Went into town today and sammy said he needed to speak to Father Christmas......i think it was more the fact that he gets a chocolate bar when he sees him.....

The Soundtrack to your life

amazing what memories and feelings music evoke listening to a CD in the car today and first off all Silent night took me back to a Christmas Eve on top of a mountain with Ste looking at the stars and a week to the day we got married.  Then to another Christmas when i was in labour with Abigail hearing the same song and the anticipation of the baby to be born.  Then back to when i first held Abigail and all those feelings i had for her.   Then the next song candlelight carol and to our wedding day and those words how do you write down a baby's first cry and back to those first moments when Abigail and Sammy were born.

Then as the song went on to the Christmas story and the wonder and amazement of that first Christmas day.

Home with abigail

Sammy didnt want to stay with mummy wanted to go to nannys so a girlly night it is well till bedtime

Abigail been practicing her song for the army when she sang the word joy she asked me if that was Grandma.....

Were all going on a present Hunt

I got Abigail to write ste tag for his present off her and she asked me had i wrapped her presents when i said yes she said she was going on a present hunt.........until i informed her the presents were hidden somewhere else....

And the fact that the presents under her bed are for other people

Christmas Magic

After last week saying she wanted to see Father Christmas Abigail now dosent as she is frightened but she did watch her message from him and just seeing her face as she watched was amaising.  Then i just ran in to town why ste went to screwfix and both kids came with me and as we were in shopping centre there were elves making ballon sculptures and Abi and Sammy both got wands and then Father christmas was walking round giving out chocolate and at first we had to move away from him cause Abi was frightened then when we came out of a shop and he came upto us abi stayed and said thanks for her chocolate.  She does say she likes him but she is frightened but i just dont want her fear to take away from the magic off christmas

Decorating Day

Its the day the decorations go up at the Hall today and i wasnt able to help as at the drs.  I like that day as it focuses my mind on advent.  With so much to do and prepare we and i guess i mean me need to remember to prepare our hearts and minds as well.

Mixed up Day

Sammy got his new glasses last night and went in to school wearing them although his teacher did comment i wonder how long they will last, and then he came home with them on and only took them off when he went for his bath......unheard off....But he was very upset when i picked him up and then didnt go for abigail even though i had explained she was staying late as she had handwritting club.  As we had to pick her up at 4 and we live 15mins away from school it wasnt worth going home.  So a trip to tesco and a   fredo frog soon made him smile.

Christmas preperation

the present shopping is done, the making of cards started, the wrapping started,  the christmas clean is done so were ready for the tree to go up next weekend but i need to get on with the cards and wrapping and i just remembered to do Abigails party invites so i feel a busy week ahead

Father Christmas

When i took sammy to opticians we saw father christmas as he was walking around the centre sammy went to say hello and got a chocolate.  Abigail was then upset because she hadnt seen him.  But normally she dosent want to as she says she is frightend i dont know what has brought the change about but a couple of weeks ago she asked if the father christmas you see are the real one so we had a chat about how they are his helpers as father christmas is to busy getting ready for christmas.  Not sure if thats why but know she wants to see him

Broken again

sammy got his new glasses on thursday and they were broken by last Tuesday.  I took him back to the opticians and as they dont have the frames he had he needed to pick some more and i dont know why as i didnt even now he knew who the simpsons are he picked a pair of simpsons glasses as long as he wears them he could have picked anything so we have to go back wednesday and then we will see.

lucky daddy

ste brought one ticket and won a bottle of pop must to the kids delight he brough a strip of raffle tickets and won 7th prize

school fair

it was the school fair today so as usual Abigail had her nails painted but i didnt ask her if she wanted her face painting as she always says no likewise we didnt visit father christmas as she gets frightend.....as we got in the car she complained i wanted to see father christmas i wanted my face painted.....trust me to get it wrong again

Be good

Abigail and sammy where stood at door waving goodbye and told them to be good when abigail told me to be a good nurse

Another fine mess

Having had a convesation with jeanette i had decided i was not going to do timbrels as she said it was fast and hard.  But at rehearsals today ste said off you go and i said im not doing it he and other people said have a go.  So i did and i struggled with bits but got others but more that that i felt like i belonged and it is a long time since i felt likt that.  I know it's my thought because i come out of songsters and uniform but i have felt more and more like an outsider and it dosent help when people tret you like that as well and dont include you in things or ignore you.  But suddenly i didnt feel like that and  i had conversations with people who i wouldnt normal.  The only thing is will i be able to keep up.  And how do i get my own back...

Cute

Sammy has been sat under his bed singing along to his christmas cd.....he is just so cute

Which List

Sammy was singing santa claus is coming to town and i asked him if he was on the naughty or good list and he replied the naughty...................not sure he is right though

Glasses 2

We returned today and he picked up Mr Bump which were his first pair but also are to small as he looks over them but after the lady showed him the glasses case the lego glasses come in that was decision made although it cost us a visit to macdonalds

Glasses

What a day after taking Sammy for eye test yesterday in which he did actually tell them what the pictures where so they could test his vision but he wouldnt look through his glasses so had to go back and see the doctor today he had to have drops in the outcome is there going to reduce his prescription to see if he will wear them so tried a diffrent opticians and they had spiderman which is what he said he wanted but then we couldnt get him to try them he hates change so that might be why.  He just kept putting his glasse son and the new ones in his case.  But we need to get a pair that fit better so will have to try again tomorrow

I remember it but for very different reasons.  Fifth november 2004 i met ste for the first time and that was the start of our story.  Eight amazing years.

Stranger

How quickly i have gone from belonging to being a stranger if it wasnt for the kids and me wanting to bring them up with a faith and grounding for life i would just wwalk away and the sad thing is i wouldnt even be noticed.  Because im certanley not noticed when there

Happy Children

Simply things Two Ice Cream = Two happy Children.....Christmas displays and goodies = teo happy parents a good day had by all.

Favorites

its so nice to be back with Ste Abigail and Sammy,  I missed them all so much and even if Sammy has been a little monkey today it was still a great day with my favorite people

Memories

  had a really good day on course learning about life stories.  It reminded me of how important it is  1) to create memories with my family and 2) to record those memories and life stories.  But disscusing memories hasmade me miss Abigail and Sammy today.  It will be really good to see them and Ste tomorrow.

Great place where the course was held and good food we were just expecting sandwiches and had a hot meal but wouldnt have had such a big breakfast if had known.

Peace

In cardiff very nice hotel found a lovely pub for tea and whille enjoying the peace i am  missing ste sammy abigail and mackie

That told me...

.i have had two really busy days tidying up and trying to getting sorted for going away on course and then away on holiday.  But today on the way to school Abigail first of all informs me that im not strong like daddy sammy and her and i need to wait for daddy to come home to do stuff for me......then she told me that when there at school i dont do anything...............i wish

All i want for Christmas...

Out of the blue Abigail has just said she wants an i pad for christmas, so .i asked her what one was and she said she had heard people in school talking about them and you play games on them.  She has obviously no idea what they are but heard kids takling about them Ste did say it was on his list...thankfully ste was joking and when we pointed out to Abigail she has her ds for playing games on she went of the idea.. However she has done her christmas list only 2 unsuitable things one thing we have already got so that leaves 6 things between Christmas and Birthday the biggest thing being Hello kitty roller skates.. i feel we may be heading to a and e.

Classic

Coming home in car today Abigail said she wants the faries to bring her presents not Father Christmas so i said we will write a letter and you can ask him. So she said what do i say so we were talking about what to write when she said i like Father Christmas im just frightened of him......Classic abigail

Giggles

had to take sammy to the doctors .....the poor doctor had a job examing him due to his giggles.....

Music

Abigail is starting music lessons on Monday she will be starting keyboard lessons
 and is really excited.

Polite

At least i have done something right the teacher in breakfast club commented on how polite Samuel is

Football

We have arranged to go away on holiday at half term which has  took some doing as im away on a course kids were happy about it but then Abigail came home today with a leaflet about football workshop on the thurs and fri of halfterm and devestated that she cant go i didnt even know she liked football.  When i said you dont play football she said i do at school

Me time

Just had some quality me time had a lovely relaxing afternoon with my friend enjoying some pampering . Lunch followed by a massage and a facial and then a pedicure  at the chill out spa only thing is i want to go back...

Happy girl

One very happy little girl.................Abigail got to bring dasiy dancerhome  today from dance classsfor doing so well and then had a great time at her friends birthday party.

Back

I dont think sammy likes my new hair colour as he keeps saying he wants my black hair back

Progress

Niether of us could go to school today for writting week but Ste's Mom went for us....Sammy is starting to talk a little more and has settled but they did comment he is the youngest but one in his class. As for Abigail she is doing really well only thing is she writes some of her numbers backwards and they have noticed she struggles when lots of diffrent activities going on and a lot of noise but if they let her work just outside the classroom she does better...Still amazed that Sammy gets up and says im going to school today but pleased they are both happy.

Changing rooms

After a very busy weekend we have managed to swap rooms so what was the dinning room is now the lounge ste has layed a new carpet inthe lounge so we now have a lovely tidy lounge just need to sort a tv cabinet and one back to normal dinning room

In trouble

Mummy in trouble forgot it was own clothes day today in my defence they are not normally on a monday Abigail and Ste forgot as well and i had a very busy weekend where i was super organised

Dance show

Abigail and ste have returned from dance show 2 Abigail says she wants to do it every day.......and ste has been booked for next year

We are a couple and the money we give comes from both us.  But yet that fact is ignored prehaps its because we dont count.  It seems because ste is not a member he simply does not count but  people need to  consider the impact things have.

Big day for sammy he went  on his school visit this afternoon ..abigail was very excited as for sammy im not sure.  But Sammy seemed to get on really well at school one little cry that was all and he came out happy.......Abigail said he was fine and played with her and her friends

well we must be doing something right as parents just had abigails school report which is great she always helpful enthusiastic loves praise and learning her teacher is going to miss her (mind you she getting sammy in exchange) and she knows whats right and wrong and why........

double booked

.talk about being double booked at least quadrupled booked yp anniversary at army...christing of a friends little boy Abigail dress rehearsal this morning ste dress rehearsal this afternoon..unfortunatley had to miss army so abigail could go to dress rehearsal then went to christing service but missed reception afterwards ste gone to collect Abigail then bring her home then head back for his and it will be a miracle if abigail comes back with everything she took

We been out to buy some new bed covers for sammy as its time for a big bed and he picked fireman Sam he just showed them abigail and told her they have his name on

Im doing your job

Just getting Abigail and Samuel ready for bed and Sammy wanted something from downstairs so Abigail said i will do your job Mummy and came running downstairs when i said to her its not my job to run after you both she said im just doing what you do...

Very proud of Abigail came last in her races but apparantly had the biggest smile.....

Abigails first school sports day tomorrow she is in the egg and spoon and bean bag races hoping it all goes well for her and wishing i could be there.   However while she remembered to bring her pe kit home as needs to go in it for sports day tomorrow she came minus her lunch box...When i checked her pe kit it was minus her shorts and she has someone elses tshirt............luckly i have new stuff for new school year so she ok for morning

Proud

Very proud of Ste the chief exuctive recieved a letter saying how well he has done his job so we have had  a kid free mealout with .....so nice just to be the two of us but lovely to come home and cuddle Abigail and Samuel

Zoo

had a good day at the zoo....didnt get too wet some showers this morning but mainly dry this afternoon sammy was a little star although tired by time to come home as had walked all day he liked the tigers the best and going on the monorail it was even the same one the queen went on....

Sammy has been especially cute tonight...he got in from his nannys and i was tidying up so he said me tidy up and took the mop from  me and tried to mop the floor.  Then cause Abigail put her pj on then he sat next to Abigail and made room for her tv next to his.  Then after going to bed and being naughty i went to see what he was up to and he said cuddle mummy and gave me the biggest smile ever....

dont know where i am going or either if i want to find my way back just now that i hurt at the moment and wonder if it just time to walk away

precious

My job always makes u count your blessings but some days more than others and today one of those days.   A patient younger than me with a young family i guess a little close to home with a terminal diagnosis.  Certinly makes you think that life is very precious and short and the little things are not worth worrying about there is one thing that my job often reminds me but more so today is that  life is very precious and u need to make the most of every moment

Only ste

only ste can come back with roses for me in one hand and a clothes dryer in the other

Poor samuel was not happy today going back to nursery after 2 weeks off...Abigail came home with certificate for 100% attendance so far 2 full terms without a day off...and informed us doing the egg and spoon race, running race and beanbag in sports day

after seeing Abigail in her costumes cant wait for the show but not sure who want to see most Abigail or ste.............

Mackie Dog

Mackie dog came home today the house fells complete now..............aparantly he has been as good as gold why we were away as usual must be something to do with us kids dog or good when not with us

Washing marathon

After 5 loads of washing have had to stop as run out of drying space

Home sweet Home

After hearing the forcast of gales we decided to come home this morning instead of tonight.  After a nihtmare journry getting stuck in a 6 mile tailback for no apparant reason we got Home Sweet home.

Day 12

Surprisingly another good day went to wollacombe and only cloudy other as got in car then arrived at Lynton in drizzle then was soon in sunshine kids been great abigail been playing in playground since got back now both in bed

Day 11..rainy day

Another good day unfortunatly it has rained most of the day but stopped this evening had a drive through wollacombe and crode then some retail therapy hoping to head towards the moors tommorrow

Day 10

Arrived at woolacombe sun shinning kids on playground picked pitch by playground so can see kids from van. Another good day sun shone all afternoon we visited illfracombe and came back and kids played in playground.


 

Day 9

although windy and showery another good day explored padstow a drive through rock found a tea room with the most gorgeous chocolate cake and smoothies then a drive through Port Issac and ended the day with a walk over the cliff top with abigail
